Apple Fritters

4 c. all-purpose flour (1 L) |
3 c. milk (750 mL) |
1/4 tsp. salt (1 mL) |
6 apples |
8 c. canola oil for deep-frying (2 L) |
granulated sugar |
Directions:
1. Blend flour, milk and salt to make smooth batter.
2. Peel, core and slice apples into 1/4-in. (1 mm) thick slices. Dip apple slices into batter and deep-fry at 375°F (190°C) 2 to 3 minutes until lightly browned on both sides. Sprinkle with sugar while hot and serve immediately.
